Huckleberry Film Studios started operations as a small video production company serving motion graphics, titles and production services for various organizations, agencies and other studios. As our successes and reputation have grown, so too has our client list, our skills, and our amazing team of professionals.

Today we work all over Southern Ontario from our home base in the Kitchener-Waterloo region, serving clients in every type of industry. We take on ad hoc projects, and we offer a range of professional services, including our virtual video studio and partner services. We are extremely proud of our track record, and we promise to deliver corporate video unlike anyone else- striking that perfect balance between engaging your audience, and driving your messaging home.

Von has a unique blend of creative, communication and technical capabilities, and founded the company with a vision of being the best in a new wave of creative, interactive agencies. With over 12 years experience in corporate project management plus degrees in Literature and Information Science and a life-long passion for storytelling and film, Von helps clients work through the maze of possibilities and formats to arrive at video solutions that excite, entertain and engage beyond every reasonable expectation.

Brennan brings an absolute passion for video production, and we rely on him to guide the team on set, in the Director of Photography role, where his understanding of the various cameras, angles, and cinematography help create the Huckleberry difference – where we make you look so good. Brennan is a graduate of the Film and Broadcast program at Conestoga College, and before joining our team, he produced shows for Rogers TV and honed his corporate video skills at Open Text.

Kurt A business development guy for a changing economy, Kurt has spent the past 5 years in the realm of small business working with varying audiences to meet unique needs. Recognizing the need to balance between “the real world” and “the social world”, his work style includes a combination of the two that generates engaged and loyal clients who feel listened to and supported.
Kurt is also the Chair of the Alzheimer’s Board Kitchener, part of the founding group for Engage! KW, St Mary’s Hospital Foundation Leadership Committee, and was recognized in 2010 as one of Waterloo Region’s Top 40 Under 40 Business People. Says Kurt, “People. People. And People. Networking, staying social, and learning and growing with your community in all areas is what makes life fantastic.”

Sheila brings design thinking and know-how to every shoot, relying on her degrees and diplomas in design and the visual arts both on set and in post-production. Sheila is an unflinching advocate of excellence, and throws herself into the client story, the set design and visual elements as well as chipping in from time to time on production. She will make you laugh, look good, and help bring a polish to the whole production.

Laura “Producer Extraordinaire,” is probably what should be on her business card, but we’re not prone to bragging (well, ok a little). With experience producing multi-segment shows, music videos and a huge range in corporate video, there’s little we can throw at Laura that she can’t handle with poise, determination and unerring skill. Laura is another alumni of the excellent Conestoga Film & Broadcast program, and her dedication to the craft is second to none. She’s an invaluable asset on set, and we are thrilled to have her on the team.

Kate has more talent than we know what to do with in a day. It’s no surprise that she holds a dual degree in bio-medical sciences and the fine-arts, with a design portfolio spanning magazines, web design, e-learning, motion graphic design and agency work for some of the world’s largest brands. She is our resident wizard in Illustrator, Photoshop and AfterEffects, and her design skills just keep getting better. Her behind the scenes work on everything from layout to titles to particle effects is part of our secret awesome sauce.

Bob graduated from the Ontario College of Art and George Brown with a diploma in commercial art, and has provided graphic design services to web-design houses and graphic studios alike for nearly 15 years, winning six national awards in graphic design excellence. We are extremely proud to have Bob on-board, providing unsurpassed logo design and graphic art, and rounding out our offering in visual effects and 3D animation skills.
